Me
My name is Lorna Murphy, I'm from the Kent coast, in England which is probably why the sea features so much in my work. I've moved around a bit since, from Kent to Essex by way of a couple of years in Italy and now live in rural Suffolk with my partner (sadly no mad pets). After doing 'proper jobs' for a while, I started on the road to becoming an illustrator, graduating in 2008 with a BA (Hons) Illustration at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. My degree helped me discover a love of creative writing, and illustrating for children. Among other things, I am interested in the effects of light on colour and mood. I try to capture the warmth and energy of life and combine it with a good dollop of fun and silliness as a reminder not to take life too seriously.
